About Sara

I am a certified math and science teacher and have been tutoring since 1997. I have been in business full time with over 40 hours of tutoring per week since 2008. I come from an entrepreneurial family; my father was part-owner of Apro Computer Services, and my grandfather is founder of Alweather Windows and Doors.

I have a B.Sc. with an Advanced Major in Statistics and a minor in Chemistry from Dalhousie University where I was awarded entrance into the Golden Key International Honour Society.

At MSVU I graduated from the B.Ed. program with a GPA of 4.15. I taught math and science for the Halifax Regional School Board.

After teaching for the public school system for 4 years, I began my tutoring business.

I have many interests besides teaching which allows me to relate to most individuals. I am a nature and animal lover. My 14 year old cat Oreo above, passed in June. It's lonely without her, but we are excited to be welcoming a new kitten this September.

In the summer months you will most likely find me outside on random adventures such as hiking, geocaching, camping, and scuba diving. I also enjoy playing tennis and pickleball with my husband.

During the cooler months I enjoy snowshoeing and crafting, including quilting, making jewellery, and paper quilling. You can see my creations on my Sarandipitous Creations Facebook page or Instagram page.

I was fortunate to be asked to participate in Dalhousie University's "We Are Dal" project in 2019. Read my story on the Dalhousie University website.
