About Sara

I am a certified math and science teacher and have been tutoring since 1997. I have been in business full time with over 40 hours of tutoring per week since 2008. I come from an entrepreneurial family; my father was part-owner of Apro Computer Services, and my grandfather is founder of Alweather Windows and Doors.

I have a B.Sc. with an Advanced Major in Statistics and a minor in Chemistry from Dalhousie University where I was awarded entrance into the Golden Key International Honour Society.

At MSVU I graduated from the B.Ed. program with a GPA of 4.15. I taught math and science for the Halifax Regional School Board.

After teaching for the public school system for 4 years, I began my tutoring business.

I have many interests besides teaching which allows me to relate to most individuals. I am a nature and animal lover. I have a crazy cat named Oreo who will eat anything and everything!

In the summer months you will most likely find me outside on random adventures such as hiking, camping, and scuba diving.

During the cooler months I enjoy snowshoeing and crafting, including quilting and making jewellery. My tree pendants have become very popular. You can see my designs at East Coast Outfitters in Lower Prospect and on Facebook. I also share my craft projects on Instagram.
